“This program will help motivate more underrepresented minority students to attend college. With the mentoring, summer internships and financial support, students will realize they have a lot of support to help them be successful in college and beyond.”

Dinner at the Dutch Goose

On Sunday, September 23rd 2007, the Dutch Goose, along with Wells Fargo Bank and Academic Trainers, sponsored a dinner for community members interested in learning more about PCF. Over 40 community members attended this wonderful event that included a great dinner and presentations from Miriam.

STUDENT SELECTION

Selection of scholarship recipents is based upon educational achievement, student potential, character and individual financial need. Candidates are required to submit an application and essay. Recomendations from both a high school teacher and counselor are required. Students are eligible for this scholarship regardless of their residency status.

A panel comprised of our advisory committee and volunteers from THE PENINSULA COLLEGE FUND select scholarship winners in the spring of their senior year. Throughout college, the Fund recipients are required to maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA, write to their mentor twice a year and remain a student in good standing with confirmation from a student advisor. Similarly, each recipient must attend an orientation conducted by our program that will take place during the summer prior to his or her freshman year.
