elisabethElisabeth: Along with the heavy academic load at Eastside College Preparatory School, Elisabeth has maintained a part-time job at Hobees, a local restaurant, played sports for her school, and contributed to her community. Her tremendous work ethic has enabled her to participate in these activities while still excelling in the classroom. She participated in “Healthy Families”, a program where she taught bilingual third grade students healthy living habits, and has tutored younger students through the “I Have a Dream Foundation”. She enjoyed playing varsity volleyball and varsity soccer at school and she also enjoys photography, where she has focused on documenting her community through pictures. Last summer, Elisabeth was able to work at the Stanford Chemical Engineering Department where she helped with a graduate student’s research. This summer through Americorp, she will be working  with low income families, coordinating and organizing community building activities. She looks forward to attending the University of California at Los Angeles.
