“I am thankful to know that I am receiving help and support from so many people that care for me and that is what makes my college experience a lot better. ” -Claritza, 2006 Scholar

DanielWhen Daniel starts at Cal State East Bay this fall, he hopes to go into the medical field because he doesn’t like to see people suffering from illness. He has been self-supporting with a half-time job yet says “having to work and attend school has made me into a responsible person.” Work also didn’t stop him from performing in Mash It Up, a Menlo-Atherton dance group. His teacher says of him “I have been a teacher for 10 years and have seen all sorts of students. There are only a few that make an honest attempt at learning not only to get the grades, but because they have that innate interest to prepare themselves for the next step in their lives. Daniel is such a person.”
