“I am thankful to know that I am receiving help and support from so many people that care for me and that is what makes my college experience a lot better. ” -Claritza, 2006 Scholar

PatriciaPatricia has only been in United States for three years and yet you would never know it based on what people say about her academic progress.  She finished high school with a 3.7 GPA while at the same time learning the English language, joining the cheer team and being a leading member of the Students Offering Support Program, an organization that help students around school who feel alone and isolated.  One of her teachers referred to her, “as the most determined and capable members of the senior class.”  Patricia’s academic potential, resiliency and character have helped her get to this spot in her life.  She is now determined to get a college degree so that she can one day become an architect and take advantage of her love of art and math.  This next step in her life will start this fall at The College of San Mateo.
