“I am thankful to know that I am receiving help and support from so many people that care for me and that is what makes my college experience a lot better. ” -Claritza, 2006 Scholar

KeneishaAt the bottom of every email Keneisha sends she refers to herself as a writer and poet.  As she says so eloquently, “writing not only lets me express myself, but it allows me to speak without speaking.”  As a student she is described as bright and determined and a motivated self-starter who works well with others.  But there is another side to her.  Keneisha is also a skillful visual artist who creates expositional paintings and drawings.  She wants to build upon these skills in college so that she can become a 3D modeler and one day create the next Avatar movie.  At Chico State she will hopefully study animation while still finding time to write.  As she heads off to Chico we hope she will remember her own words that she has shared.
“Take my words as a small pardon
To adventures that may come
Take this world and make it yours
Don’t let go until you’re done.”
